The three-dimensional mats are made in accordance with Enterprise Standard 00205009-002-2006 from polymer raw materials by extrusion. As raw materials for making of geomats polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE) and polyamide (PA) may be used.

The three-dimensional structure of a geomat prevents vegetable soil creep along a slope and fixes the roots of plants growing out, which is the most important during formation of root systems.
